I attended a job search fair looking for a better opportunity in my employment future and was completely annoyed by the lack of people actually HELPING people find a job. The event was basically employment agencies saying "Here is our web site, go sign up." How is that a job fair? It was quite a waste of time.
The sad part was the desperation of the people who went there was near physical. They went with expectation of someone giving them a consideration for employment, what they got was agencies they already likely are part of without a single prospective employer.
I left my Resume/CV with a few of them, but to be honest I don't see why my physical Resume/CV would make any difference to the digital one they already had.
There was the anti-discrimination agency there, and I had a brief chat with them. It made me realize I need to write more article entries on people treating people like someone rather a static.
